After a magnificent concert in the year 2018 in the Golden Hall of Musikverein, Estonian Sinfonietta is once again invited to Vienna to bring Estonian music and artists into the heart of Europe, this time to perform in the Great Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus under the baton of Finnish conductor Emilia Hoving.
The soloists for the concert are Lithuanian violinist, the winner of several Lithuanian and international competitions, Rūta Lipinaitytė, who will play Fratres by Arvo Pärt’s and Austrian oboe virtuoso Katharina Hörmann, who performs the oboe concerto by Richard Strauss, TrV 292.
The concert is framed by the symphonies No. 1 and No. 104 of Joseph Haydn.
Estonian music is presented by the works of Arvo Pärt – “Fratres” and “Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten” and from Finland, “Hava” by Lotta Wennäkoski will be performed.
The pre-concerts will take place at the end of February in Tallinn and Jõhvi, being the stage debut in Estonia for Emilia Hoving as well as the Estonian premiere of “Hava” by Lotta Wennäkoski.
