The delegation (Ambassador Toomas Kukk, counselor Tiia Miller and Estonian Honorary Consul in Innsbruck, Dr Hubert Tramposch) met with Deputy Mayor of Innsbruck, Ms Christine Oppitz-Plörer, President of the Parliament of the Land of Tyrol, Ms Sonja Ledl-Rossmann, and Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tyrol, Ms Barbara Thaler.
At the meeting in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tyrol the possibilities of intensifying economic co-operation between Estonia and Tyrol were discussed. In addition to the local tourism sector, the Region of Tyrol considers its strength in manufacturing industry (especially in metal, mechanics and wood sector). Start-up companies in the field of ICT and medicine are also very successful.
The city of Tartu is interested in cooperation with the city of Innsbruck. At the meeting with the Deputy Mayor, Ms Oppitz-Plörer the mutual interest was expressed.
The Speaker of the Tyrolean Parliament, Ms Sonja Ledl-Rossmann, pointed out, that Tyrol is known as the land of sport and tourism. Innsbruck has twice hosted the Olympic Games, in 1964 and 1976.
The interest in Estonian digital solutions, as well as in online voting, was shown at all meetings.
